Guineawick Tales is a fantasy series revolving around the rodents of Guineawick. Follow the lives of Hester, Aman and their friends in the walled mousetown nestled between Hodge River and Mount Podge.
Guineawick hasn’t seen a non-mouse in generations, so when a wounded rabbit warrior is found outside of town, Hester knows there’s more to his story than he’s letting on.
- Hester and the Kookaburra King
When a plague befalls Guineawick, Hester must set off from home on an adventure to find the cure.
A short adventure of the Guardmouse Aman, set during the events of “Hester and the Kookaburra King”.
*: Short story
The series is my attempt at children’s literature for adults; adding emotional depth to the typically child-friendly setting of animal fantasy. The current plan is to write three main novels, alternating with three short stories that further expand the Guineawick Tales universe. The first tale, the short story Pawsgaard, is meant as an introduction to the world and is available online at Smashwords and other fine ebook retailers.
I have two tales currently in progress:
- Hester and the Kookaburra King, the first full-length novel set in the Guineawick Tales universe. The first draft was written during NaNoWriMo 2010 and I’m currently on draft three, hoping for a late 2012 release.
- The short story Aman, the first draft of which was written during NaNoWriMo 2011.
All stories in the Guineawick Tales series are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. Remix. Enjoy. Tell your friends.
